Things you say when you are drunk will get you in trouble.

So, I apparently have made some promises during some recent drunken - tirades.  The one that is getting thrown back in my face is that I will start-up again a project that I had long left abandoned.  To appease my sceptics, I think I will use this blog site to re-start that idea I talked all big about that night. 

The point of this blog was to have no point whatsoever, and the point of my abandoned blog was to have a point - so can the two coexist?  They may have to.   Why?  Simply because I am two lazy to maintain two seperate blogs.

Importance of a penny

"got a few books in a really great, non-chain store in the lower east side, by NYU - abt numbers; saw books there that i haven't seen at Brdrs or B&N. one of the books is abt numbers - you'd probably also find it interesting.

 

30 billion hotel stays = that'll take 82,191 years, not taking leap years into consideration. according to my calculations leap years are going to add at least another 56 years. so that's going to take practically forever. we'll be long dead by the time it's over. but one shld die trying right?

 

i'd rather not try to make money this way.

 

maybe you can figure out how compound interest and inflation is going to influence these numbers.

Yea, make me do the math while - a year later - you still don't know the importance of it all.

But then, neither do I.

Letting it Out

Had the opportunity this morning to let it all out - and dump all my frustration on someone else.

Been doing that a lot lately - venting that is. 

I felt a whole lot better afterwords. 

But I do think I lost a little bit of my voice now.

I wonder how much venting really helps though.  And when you vent to the person who is causing you the grief directly, does this do either one of you any good?  Especially went the venting turns ugly- I almost always end up saying things that border on just plain mean.  Do people really need to know these ugly truths about themselves?  Are they really truths?  Just because I may have an opinion on someone else's issues, maybe that does not make them necessarily correct.  And when is it my place to tell someone else what their problems are?  Aren't we all already too painfully aware of our own shortcomings?  Does hold up a mirror in front of someone else really help?  How do we know that the mirror we hold is clear for the other person?  Our perception skews this too greatly, especially when our own feelings and emotions are involved.  So - if I tell someone I have no emotional attachment to their issues, is this any more true or fair?  Do emotions skew opinion and perception, and thus conversely, can the lack or absence thereof clarify any of these?  What type and amount of ignorance do I possess to think that I have any right to share my views, or have views for that fact, on someone else's life?

In the end - while I may feel BETTER for the vent, I think the scars caused and left on everyone from it will only cause more pain in the long run.
